Spray one to two coats of kilz primer onto the fan parts. Clean the fan blades arms and the brass bottom cover well with a damp rag and some multi purpose spray cleaner if necessary. You should re assemble the fan unit only when the fan blades have completely dried. Apply multiple coats until you ve achieved the coverage you want.

I would use a primer first if you are going from dark blades to white. Lay them on a tarp or drop cloth. Allow the blades and hardware to air dry thoroughly. Clear primer is sprayed over the fan blades make sure to wear a face mask for this step.
